The storm is over for now, but there will be another one, and another after that. How can we stay in touch in these dark, winter days? How can we check up on each other when the winds howl and the temperature drops?
Let me count the ways. During this week’s snow and ice event, people emailed, texted, messaged, did group chats, and yes, even called, to see if we had food, heat, water, and all the amenities that go with modern life. We did the same for our friends.
